2020 NCEA Level 3 Photography: Theme: Privacy
This is a snapshot of my level 3 photography board. I chose to explore the idea of privacy, and how the version of ourselves that we represent to others is inherently different from our inward self. I use motifs of blinds, windows, and other barriers to explore this idea, as well as exploring other facets of privacy such as the idea of paranoia, and feeling as though you aren't alone.
Lighting and colour palette also played a very important part in communicating the story. Green tinges are displayed throughout the photographs, and strong contrasting light and dark tones are continuous throughout the panel. This is to further emphasise the different parts of the human psyche, in particular the shadow archetype, a psychological theory brought forward by Carl Jung.
Here are some of my personal favourites photographs from throughout the year.
